Natalie Portman Joins Cast of Superhero Movie Thor
Star Wars actress Natalie Portman has joined the cast of superhero adventure movie Thor. The screen siren will appear in the comic book adaptation alongside the movie's star Chris Hemsworth.
Portman, 28, will play Jane Foster, who was a nurse and first love of the title character in the Marvel Comics. According to Marvel Studios, the female lead character is being updated for the movie version of Thor, in which the Norse warrior is cast down to Earth to live among humans. Filming will begin early next year and the movie, directed by Kenneth Branagh, is due in cinemas in May, 2011.
