Natasha Richardson Critically Injured in Skiing-Accident
Sad, conflicting details emerge.
There have been numerous conflicting reports today about actress Natasha Richardson's condition after a skiing accident Monday at Mont Tremblant. This is a terribly sad story and we've held off on reporting it until more details emerged.
According to CNN, Richardson fell on a beginners' ski trail Monday during a lesson at the Mont Tremblant resort in Canada. Though she did not show any visible signs of injury, the ski instructor called the ski patrol.
According to a statement released by the resort, "She did not show any visible sign of injury, but the ski patrol followed strict procedures and brought her back to the bottom of the slope and insisted she should see a doctor."
The ski instructor accompanied Richardson back to her hotel room where she reported "not feeling good," according to the statement, and an ambulance was called. She was taken to the Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal, where she appears to have spent the night.
Her husband, actor Liam Neeson, left the set of Toronto set of his current project, Chloe, to be by his wife's side.
Richardson was reportedly transferred from the hospital in Montréal to an undisclosed location in the United States today.
The family is expected to make a statement tomorrow about Richardson's condition, which is said to be quite grave.
We're huge fans of Richardson and have long-admired her screen and stage work. We're saddened by this horrible news and our thoughts go out to Richardson, Neeson and their two young sons.
