Nelly Furtado Donates Qaddafi Payday Money To Charity
The Canadian Singer Puts $1 Million Paycheck To Good Use
Nelly Furtado is donating the money she was paid to perform at a private 2007 concert attended by members of Muammar Qaddafi's family to a charity called Free the Children.
Furtado, who received an astounding $1 million for the show, made the announcement at a youth empowerment conference planned by the co-founders of the Free the Children charity.

Furtado is the latest in a line of celebrities who have been vocal about donating money earned for private performances that, unbeknownst to them at the time, were associatd with the former Libyan leader's family. Beyonce, Mariah Carey and Usher have also pledged to use their paychecks from such events charitably.
The Canadian musician's donation will be put towards building a girls school in Kenya and supporting girls throughout the Middle East and Africa.
