Lindsay stole a cheap necklace?

Things aren't lookning so hot for Lindsay Lohan. But with this news of a new witness stepping forward, they could get a little bit better. No, the witness can't prove Lindsay didn't steal the necklace. But they may be able to prove she shouldn't be charged with a felony.

This could be just the break Lindsay Lohan needs. You know, so her life can go back to "normal" for just a little bit. A witness has stepped forward to say there's no way Lindsay should be charged with a felony. Why not? Well, obviously Michael Lohan has all the details.

Michael tells RadarOnline.com, "A man contacted Lindsay's camp and told them he went into the jewelry store way before Lindsay did and was interested in buying the necklace... They told him it was $800." Whoa! So, you know what that means, right?

.

Michael continues, "This witness will completely exonerate Lindsay and prove that the necklace isn't worth $2,500, and prove that she shouldn't have been charged with a felony." Yes, this is huge news for Lindsay since it could mean she won't be charged with a felony. But still, this doesn't mean didn't steal a piece of jewelry. It just means she stole a cheaper piece of jewelry.

Would you volunteer to take a stand on this case if you were this man? And can we trust that he is really telling the truth? Or does he just want a little Lohan family fame? Or perhaps, Michael Lohan is offering him a little dough to speak up? All speculation here, of course.

Lindsay is due back in court February 23, so we'll have to wait and see how everything plays out.
