Next Gen: Lie, Cheat, and Coldplay
What’s up with kids these days?
No, we’re not one bowl of oatmeal away from telling you to get off our lawn, but two studies that were released this week have us scratching our heads over where our sibs might be heading in life.
The first report comes by way of the Josephson Institute and reveals that high school students these days are lying, cheating, thieving little monsters. No, really. And yet, 77% of them still think they are “better than most people they know” at being honest.
But there’s hope: Anderson Analytic’s fall survey shows that college students are moving away from shlock like Cosmo in favor of Time, and dropping fluffy sites like Perez and CollegeHumor. And though they are still skewing adult contemporary (Coldplay, really?) in music and making poor choices when it comes to food (McDonalds over the Bell - no way!), they are putting their actions where their bumper stickers are when it comes to voting and world peace.
If you’re still in college, consider pulling your sibs aside and schoolin’ them a little, please!
