Nick Cannon: Mariah Carey Wants To Be An "Idol" Judge

With no official word from the American Idol brass on the status of the famous judging panel, music industry stars continue to drop hints about their Idol aspirations.

The latest to throw her hat in the ring is Mariah Carey -- whose husband, Nick Cannon, spoke for her in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

She talks about it. She says, "I would love to do that." She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don't know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do "Idol."

Aerosmith legend Steven Tyler has said he'll "probably" accept an official red Coca-Cola cup and Jennifer Lopez has been rumored to be sitting her famous derriere down in the seat that has been occupied by Kara Dioguardi (or possibly Ellen Degeneres.)
