Nick Cannon Quits Radio Show After Blood Clots in Lungs
Nick Cannon Health Concerns Cause Him to Quit Radio
Nick Cannon's health problems are the reason behind his decision to quit his radio show.
Cannon was reportedly hospitalized last week with blood clots on his lungs, prompting him to release the following statement about stepping down from his morning show on New York's WXRK, 92.3FM.
Cannon notes: "Under doctor's orders, I have been asked to cut back on some of my professional commitments to allow my body to get the rest it needs to keep up with the demands of my multitasking schedule. Even Superman has to sleep!"

It's nice to see that he's finally letting something go, after he suffered kidney failure earlier this year while vacationing in Aspen, only to return to work as soon as he was released from the hospital.
Last week, doctors treated Cannon for two clots and an enlarged right ventricle in his heart.
He addressed his health problems on his radio show, sharing, "I have been in the hospital since Friday, and actually, it's quite serious. I didn't even know. I was actually trying to downplay it a lot - even in my own mind -- not go to the hospital because I was having a lot of pain in my back and I thought it was the typical kidney pain that I had been experiencing, but I thought it had been a little bit heightened."

Further, he explains, "Because of the blood clots in my lungs, I also had an enlarged ventricle in my heart. My antibodies [in] my immune system were attacking my organs and it made my body even weaker. My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me -- and he's not joking. I think part of the reason why my health did kind of deteriorate was because I wasn't resting a lot and I was doing too much."
There's a lesson in there kids -- don't overdo it. Life is too short and you don't want to make it shorter.
Here's hoping Cannon takes the necessary time to rest and spend with his wife and twins.
Among the hardest working people in entertainment (Ryan Seacrest and Cannon have more jobs than I can count), Cannon shares, "I always took a lot of pride in working so hard and never taking a day off. But I'm learning that it isn't the wisest thing all the time, especially being a new father. Not only wanting to spend more time with my children, but wanting to be there for my children."
Cannon will carry on as host on America's Got Talent and his syndicated radio show Cannon's Countdown.
