Nicole Kidman Won't Talk About Scientology
Kidman's Promo Tour of Nine Yields No CoS Drama
What compels a journalist who is supposed to interview Nicole Kidman about Nine to ask her about the Church of Scientology instead? Curiosity! It might not be very professional, but wouldn't you be tempted if you had an opportunity to drill Kidman about Tom Cruise and Scientology-related matters?
Nicole Kidman was being interviewed by hard-hitting TV journalist Andrew Marr, who reportedly likes to ask awkward questions of his interviewees to get the dirt. I like him already!
What's even better is that Nicole handled it like a champ. Instead of storming out when he tried to make her squirm, she simply made it clear that she has been called in to discuss Nine, and planned to do so.
From The Brisbane Times:
Marr said: "Scientology. It is, a lot of people would say, a bullying cult."
Kidman replied: "I'm here to publicize Nine. If I was here to do an expose on myself then I'd be like, ‘let's go,' but I have no interest in discussing any of that."
Marr said: "You don't want to talk about Scientology in any way at all?"
Kidman answered: "Nope. I'll talk about Nine."
Nicole Kidman's brain has not been poisoned by Botox! I like an actress who can-- with class-- manage to divert a potentially uncomfortable situation. What do you think about her response-- should she have talked about Scientology?
