Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald Get Engaged
She'll marry a mortal
Edward and Bella's Breaking Dawn wedding may be the event of the year, but there's another Twilight wedding in the cards, too. After just a couple months of dating, Nikki Reed is now engaged to American Idol's Paul McDonald. She was showing off her new bling on the red carpet at last night's MTV Movie Awards.

I have just three words: That was fast. Nikki Reed, who plays Rosalie Cullen in the Twilight movies, and Paul McDonald met back in March at the Red Riding Hood premiere that American Idol contestants had the honor of attending. There was instant chemistry (all caught on video) and the two have been totally smitten with each other ever since.
We thought things were moving a bit fast when we heard Nikki and Paul were already moving in together, but now there's a ring on the finger. At last night's MTV Movie Awards, E! Online asked Nikki if she thought she'd marry McDonald. In answer, she flashed her ring and said, "He's the one. He's the one." As in, yes she will definitely be marrying Paul McDonald and already has an engagement ring to prove it.
.
Call me crazy, but I think these two are setting themselves up for disaster. Of course, it's adorable they're so deep in love, but after three months of dating have you even exited the honeymoon stage yet? Nikki even claims Paul is writing songs about her and is "going to release a Nikki Reed EP." Gag me.

There's no word on when the wedding will be, but something tells me Rod Stewart-imitating Paul McDonald's music career is going to take off from here. And maybe someday he'll even be able to afford a diamond ring for Nikki Reed. Come on, you know she bought that engagement ring herself. Despite his American Idol run, McDonald is still just a struggling musician.
Will Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald make it in the long-run or are they setting themselves up for divorce? I'm just going to sit back, grab my popcorn, and listen to Paul McDonald sing sappy songs about Nikki Reed.
