No Passion Left in Gibson Marriage
Mel Gibson's wife enlists celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
After 28 years of Catholic marriage, Robyn Denise Moore Gibson files for divorce in Los Angeles, citing "irreconcilable differences". Ironically, the petition was signed during Holy Week, the events of which are portrayed in Mel Gibson's highly controversial, yet financially successful film, The Passion of the Christ.
Robyn and Mel Gibson issued the following statement: "Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so."
According to papers, Robyn is seeking spousal support, attorney's fees and joint physical customer of Tom, the couple's only child of seven who is still a minor. She will be represented by Laura Wasser, celebrity divorce attorney who has handled the high-profile settlements for Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Nick Lachey, and Stevie Wonder.
Gibson's net worth is estimated at $900 million.
