Nude Angelina Jolie Sculpture to be Unveiled
A nude Angelina Jolie statue is set to go on display. The life-size work - created by New York-based artist Daniel Edwards - shows the actress and mother-of-six breastfeeding two babies while naked and sitting down.
The infant twins - one of whom is of African descent, according to Edwards - are meant to represent the Tomb Raider star's own twins. The artwork, Landmark For Breastfeeding, will be on the streets of Oklahoma in September. Jolie, 34, and partner Brad Pitt, 45, have twins in real life - Knox and Vivienne, who were born in France in July 2008. The work was inspired by Jolie's appearance on the cover of W magazine last year. Then, she was snapped by Pitt as she breastfed the newborn tots. The sculpture will be unveiled on September 11 as part of World Breastfeeding Week in Norman, Oklahoma - about an hour's drive from Pitt's birthplace in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Sandy Wilson of Phantom-Financial, the organisation behind the Jolie artwork, said: "We believe the statue sends a beautiful message by promoting the acceptance of public breastfeeding. Mothers should be encouraged to nurture their babies anywhere."
