Olivia Wilde Knows How to Film a Sex Scene
It's not as glamorous as you think.
If you've ever tried to kiss someone while a bunch of people watched, you know how nerve-racking it can be. How much should I open my mouth? Does my breath smell? Should we use tongue? Yes, it's bad, but just be glad you don't have to do it in front of millions of people every night like Olivia Wilde.
The 25 year-old House actress, who was recently voted to the top of Maxim's "Hot 100," described what it 's like to film steamy sex scenes.
"People imagine it’s this really glamorous and sexy thing," she said, "but I always laugh because in reality there are 50 people in the room. You are stopping and starting. There is someone yelling like 'can you move your hand, can you just put your shoulder down, ok good, more more...'"
In fact, according to Wilde, these sex scenes seem to be the exact opposite of sexy.
"There is always a particularly large and hairy man holding a boom wearing a crop top. I don’t know if they’re like ‘ooh sex scene where’s my crop top because I need to hover above Olivia, make sure my hairy belly is somewhere in the vicinity of her face’," she said with a laugh.
So the next time you're watching House and wondering what it's like to make-out on camera, just picture a hairy gorilla-dude standing next to you. Sexy much?
