Oscar 'In Memoriam' Montage: Farrah Fawcett, Bea Arthur Left Out
Where were they?
Poor Farrah Fawcett! We just feel so bad for her. Both she and Bea Arthur weren't included in the Oscar montage that's dedicated to film stars who have passed away over the last year. How could they leave out such renowned stars?
It seems that Farrah Fawcett just keeps getting the shaft. Her death was barely given any attention due to Michael Jackson's passing right after her. Now she's been left out of last night's beautiful Oscar montage for recently passed stars. Another famous star, Bea Arthur, was also left out. But, yup, Michael Jackson made it in!
While Farrah Fawcett may be best known for her TV role in Charlie's Angels, she has also been in several movies, like Dr. T and the Woman and The Apostle. And she was even nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in 1968's Extremeties. So, why the heck wasn't she honored?
Bea Arthur was also noticeably left out of the Oscar montage. And while Bea is best known for her TV role in Golden Girls, she was also in a couple movies, too, and loved by so many.
So, why were two famous stars left out of the memorial? An Academy Award rep told RadarOnline.com, "It is highly unlikely that we forgot about Farrah Fawcett but we unfortunately don't include everyone each year... There are many angles that are looked at as to who to include and unfortunately we don't include everyone." We totally understand that, but how can you leave out Farrah Fawcett?
Everyone was shocked that Farrah and Bea were missing from the montage, especially Oscar viewers who were hanging out on Twitter. Even Roger Ebert sent out a tweet saying, "No Farrah in the memorial. They have a lot of ‘splaining to do."
Even if you understand that not everyone can be included in the montage, do you still think it's wrong Farrah Fawcett and Bea Arthur were left out?
