Owen Wilson is the Voice of 'Marmaduke'
The greatest great dane.
Owen Wilson really loves his dogs. The actor was last seen in last year's puppy comedy Marley & Me, and now he's just signed on to provide the voice for the big screen adaptation of the classic Maramaduke comic strip.
The film will be based on the long-running comic strip from Brad Anderson, about a family that moves from Kansas to Orange County with their giant, slobbery great dane, Marmaduke, who manages to cause havoc everywhere he goes.
In a surprisingly all-star cast, Marmaduke will have actors like William H. Macy, Judy Greer and Lee Pace as his human family, while folks like Fergie, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Emma Stone, Steve Coogan, Damon Wayans and Marlon Wayans will provide the voices to some of his furry friends.
So while we're guessing this doggy drama won't be quite as weepy as Marley & Me, we're also praying it's not as terrible as the Bill Murray-voiced Garfield tragedy. But who knows. It could surprise us.
