Owen Wilson caused a problem when he asked a waitress out on a date-- but seriously, this wasn't his fault! It turned out that the waitress's boss threatened to fire her because she wouldn't date Owen. Here's the dirty scoop on what allegedly went down.

Owen Wilson visited Cafe Habana in Manhattan, Page Six reports, and he was so into the waitress, Monica Mateo, that he asked her out. Now Mateo's lawyer says that her boss wanted her to go out with Owen because he's a "good customer" at the cafe.

Instead of getting fired, Monica's hours were cut, says the report. Mateo alleged that the restaurant manager said to her: "You know what coffee means in Hollywood, right? . . . Don't screw this up. Owen's a good customer."

Page Six adds:

"Mateo's lawyer, Maimon Kirschenbaum, said the 30-something server already had a boyfriend and 'had no interest' in the Wedding Crashers star, who once dated Kate Hudson."

This is such a mess! It sounds like Owen Wilson had nothing to do with what went down later at the restaurant, and Monica Mateo's cut schedule definitely seem to have a connection with the Wilson date gate. Do you believe the story?
