Would Now Be A Good Time To Point Out Stanger's Never Been Married?

People might take Millionaire Matchmaker star Patti Stanger more seriously if she 1) successfully found a mate for herself 2) didn't say such dumb things, especially about people we adore.

So it's understandable that her latest "advice" has us pretty ticked off. Not that anyone asked, but Stanger offered her two cents on why Amy Poehler and Will Arnett, who recently separated, may have split. In her opinion, the couple didn't make it because...take a deep breath before you keep reading...Amy was too good at her job.

"Will is clearly successful - I'm a huge fan of Up All Night," Stanger reasons. "But Amy is undeniably the more well known and successful of the two. I can't help but wonder if that contributed to their divorce. Being more successful than your man can weigh heavy on a relationship." This goes back to the cavemen days. Men like to provide for women and their families. When the woman is the primary breadwinner, it's going against nature."

There are so many things wrong with this statement we don't even know where to begin. For starters, Arnett, while maybe not as well-known as Poehler, has been a successful working actor for years now. Who's to say which of the two has a bigger checking account? We know Stanger certainly isn't privy to their financial records.

Not to mention the fact that, no Patti, all men aren't cavemen. Some are quite comfortable being with a successful woman, especially one that's also self-confident with a razor-sharp sense of humor.

Lastly, we think it's wrong to put the blame on anyone in this scenario. Breakups happen, even to the most beloved couples. Whatever went wrong, the details are none of our business. And Patti, they're certainly none of yours.
