A new gig for Paula?

Ever since the news that Paula Abdul was leaving American Idol, we've been wondering what her next step would be. We've heard tons of rumors, but nothing long-term has popped up yet. But now we're hearing that Paula might be hosting her own show on Oprah's upcoming new network. Sounds kinda perfect, huh?

It may sound kind of crazy, but I actually have a feeling that Oprah's new network is going to be on 100% of the time in lots of people's homes. Well, women at least. She'll likely get the best hosts to do the best shows. And Paula Abdul might be one of the first to be snagging her own show.

Word is that Paula Abdul has been commissioned by Oprah to tape a one-hour talk show pilot that could be picked up by her upcoming network, OWN. According to sources, "Format will be Oprah-inspired - lotsa celeb guests, and real people telling inspirational stories..."

Do you think Paula Abdul can pull it off? She's been known to be a little bit flighty at times and could prove to be too much for producers to want to deal with. But she's so friendly and personable, I think she'd make a great host!
