People Apparently Loved the Oscars

At least more than last year.

It's good to be Hugh Jackman. The Sexiest Man Alive hooked it up big time at the Oscars last night, at least according to early estimates. How big was the Jack Attack?

Ratings for this year's Academy Awards are up 6 percent over last year. That's moving it the right direction, but how could it not be? Last year's Oscar audience was the smallest ever. Though this year's numbers were up, the telecast is still likely to be among the least-watched Oscars ever.

The new format for the show and appearances by teen/tween favorites like Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Mr. Vampy himself, Robert Pattinson, no doubt pulled in a new crowd of viewers.

But Oscar is gonna have to work hard if he wants to stay relevant. And by work hard we don't mean use Robert Pattinson as your go-to; enough with that pasty puppet and his freaky stare.
