Why, William, Why?!

Prince William returned from his winter holiday this morning, sans beard and plus spectacles. The dapper 26-year-old touched down at Heathrow airport, and promptly broke our beard-loving hearts by showing smooth cheeks to the world.

Why did he do it?

Reports suggest that his lady love, Kate Middleton, may not have liked the lip-tickling facial fuzz. Yes, the beard thing is a bit overdone at the moment, with every hipster on this side of the Atlantic rocking some manner of ill-groomed cheek covering, but still...

Though we mourn the loss of each perfectly-combed royal follicle and will need several drinks around noon-time to make up for it, the smartypants eyewear does sort of tickle us. LimeLife girls do make passes at boys who wear glasses.
