Will he do it?

After this year's Golden Globe Awards, there was a whole lot of talk about Ricky Gervais's performance. And a whole lot of speculation he'd be banned from awards shows forever. But now? Ricky has allegedly already been asked to host the Golden Globes again next year.

Ricky Gervais was so ready to be banned from the Golden Globes forever that he actually proclaimed he didn't want to do it anyway. But now that he's been asked again, will he have a change of heart?

Ricky Gervais tells The Daily Mail, "The ratings went up again, and the organisers asked me to consider a third year. (But) I don't think I should. I don't know what I could do better. I certainly couldn't get more press for them, that's for sure." I suppose he has a good point. This year, the audience was shocked by many of Gervais's comments. But next year? It would just be expected, right?

I love that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is so confused! On the one hand, they want to follow the rules and keep everyone happy. On the other hand, the ratings are what brings in the money. And was anyone seriously damaged by Ricky Gervais's comments? No.

.

And they're admitting they were happy with the show: "When you hire a comedian like Ricky Gervais, one expects in your face, sometimes outrageous material... he pushed the envelope and occasionally went too far. The HFPA would never condone some of his personal remarks. Overall, however, the show was among the best we've ever had and we were pleased." Money doesn't lie, friends!

I can only think of one solution for the Hollywood Foreign Press if Ricky Gervais says no. It's time to call up Russell Brand!

I personally thought he was very funny. Sure, some comments were out there, and maybe a little far, but at the same time, if celebrities cant take the heat, then really, they shouldnt be in the business they are in. Its not like he make stuff up. He just said what people were thinking. I would love to see him again next year. I never watched the golden globes all the way through before, and this made it totally worth it.

I've never watched ANY of the GG awards EVER until I saw the Gervais "highlights" on youtube. Best advertising possible. I might even consider watching live GG next time if Gervais were host. Not really, but I would watch his highlights next go around. That guy KILLS!

Gervais should host again! He's funny, talented and made a show that was becoming more of a hassle to everyone than anything into something interesting. I still enjoy watching the GG but please stop with the whole taboo talk. Whether it's stars or 'the common mass', everyone should be able to make fun of themselves and take a bit of sarcasm in. I love sarcasm and humour like his. Especially with some of those celebrities that need to realize that they're like everybody else and it's not because they succeeded in their career that they should overlook their mishaps.
