Ricky Gervais Regrets Ending His TV Show Extras

Ricky Gervais has told how he regrets ending his hit TV show Extras – because a host of A-list stars have since told him they wanted to appear in it. Ricky revealed that celebrities who wanted to appear in the show include Lawrence Fishburne, Susan Sarandon and Sylvester Stallone.

He said: “I never used to regret stopping The Office early, but at the Golden Globes awards this year, the people coming up to me saying they would have appeared in Extras was awesome. “Afterwards, I called [co-writer] Stephen Merchant and said, ‘We’ve got to do another series of Extras.' “There was Laurence Fishburne, Susan Sarandon, Sylvester Stallone. I said to Steve, ‘We’ve stopped too early!’. “Steve said, ‘Let’s leave it’. He was happy that it had finished.” Celebrities who did appear in the show include Ben Stiller, Kate Winslet and Samuel L. Jackson. Extras ended in 2007.
