Rihanna Hasn't Visited Jasmina Anema's Mom
Jasmina died in January from leukemia.
Six-year-old Jasmina Anema died of leukemia this January, and we expected to see Rihanna publicly supporting a special organization after the loss. After all, Rihanna had been very involved with the bone-marrow search while Jasmina was still alive. Now it's been brought to our attention that since Jasmina's death, Rihanna has not reached out to the family she once supported.
On the official ONEFORJASMINA Twitter account this past weekend, there was a quick note that claimed Rihanna still hadn't made contact with Jasmina's mother.
"It has been a month since Jasmina's passing. Still not even a card or text message from Rihanna. Did she use my child for a publicity stunt?" the Tweet read.
Jasmina's mom claimed that she was not the one who Tweeted the comment, and the original one was deleted, only to be circulated online via Twitter and gossip blogs.
"Apparently there are some negative blogs out there. For the record, Rihanna has been nothing but really nice!!!" an update on the account read on Monday.
"Friends have helped me with all kinds of stuff and many know the passwords to my personal e-mail, the Caringbridge site and also Twitter," Anema wrote in an e-mail to PEOPLE. "Although I did not Tweet this particular one, I do wish that Rihanna had responded to me on Jasmina's passing. It would have meant the world to me."
Do you think that Rihanna should have visited Jasmina's mom after she lost her daughter? I wish that she had. The problem about being a celeb is that you can't slip under the radar if you want to, and it can bite you if you're not careful. I wish that they had just sent a note to Jasmina's mom-- this sounds like a PR rep fail to me.
