Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart Kissing Was Natural
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart needed no help fanning passion.
While New Moon is getting mixed reviews, one thing the critics agree on is that the chemistry between Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart's Bella Swan is all there. New Moon director Chris Weitz says that's thanks to the two actors -- when it came to their tender kissing scenes, Weitz claims he stepped out of the way.
"It's not like when they're about to kiss, I'm leaning in and saying, just off camera, 'Tender, tender!' or anything like that," Weitz says. "I just let them do their thing. I think it would be creepy and inappropriate for me to advise them how to kiss one another or what it's like to be young in love. I'm 40 years old. I'm not going to Polanski out on them."
.
We've learned that Chris Weitz recently announced that he'll soon retire from directing. Here's what he had to say about his philosophy: "Capturing those [scenes] is really a question of just allowing the actors to do their work. They know their characters. They know the tone they're supposed to hit."
Hit? We can't wait to find out...but so far, New Moon reviews are a mixed bag. The stars all looked great at the premiere though - check out the amazing pics!
