This generation's James Dean

Well, Edward Cullen at least. But we kind of think Robert Pattinson continues to channel James Dean long after Twilight filming is done for the day. Robert Pattinson is definitely following in James Dean's teen heartthrob footsteps. We like to call him the James Dean of this generation.

We absolutely loved James Dean and can't get over how much Robert Pattinson reminds us of him and his brooding good looks. And then Robert reminds us how much Twilight is like one of James Dean's most popular movies. He says, "Rebel Without a Cause was a big influence on the first [Twilight film] - it influenced the hairdo and stuff... In lots of ways, it has a very similar character arc: An everyday girl brings this relatively strange individual out of his slump."

And it's more than just the good looks. Robert's modest, almost shy, personality also reminds us of James Dean. Robert Pattinson admits he doesn't really know how to handle fame: "I'm not entirely sure what it is... I'll probably realize afterward how I could have controlled it a little bit more. But I am still like a deer in headlights."

James Deans' life sadly ended at an early age, and we're hoping Robert Pattinson has a lot more time to learn how to handle his crazy famous status. We think he actually feels more comfortable hearing people refer to him as Edward because then he justifies it by thinking people really love Edward, and not him. He says, "Right at the beginning, everyone just called me Edward... I don't really mind either way. There's something about that character that, for some reason, has sparked an interest in massive degrees in so many different people."

Maybe partly because the guy who plays him is so attractive! Ever think of that, Robert Pattinson? We love this generation's James Dean!
