Robert Pattinson's 'Remember Me' Reviews Are Mixed
Edward Cullen doesn't want to be forgotten.
Robert Pattinson is more than just a vampire. His new film, Remember Me, features the young actor flexing his acting chops as a troubled rebel just looking to find his way.
In the new feature flick, Pattinson plays a wild, rebellious young New Yorker who drifts through life and doesn't get along with his father (Pierce Brosnan). But when he falls in love with the beautiful Ally (Emilie de Ravin), he suddenly finds himself on the verge of a meaningful life.
Critics so far are torn about Remember Me, though are many saying the drama is definitely worth remembering.
Amy Biancolli of the Houston Chronicle calls it "a small, dense chamber study of unhappy people looking for hope in the darkness, often literally."
USA Today's Claudia Puig says it's "a touching love story, but its broader tale of familial relations packs a greater emotional punch," and critic Steven Rea of the Philadelphia Inquirer says Pattinson fans will "eat it up."
Of course, not everyone is on the Remember Me train. Rolling Stone's Peter Travers says it's "all weepy drool until the twist ending, which turns it shockingly offensive."
Still, I'm guessing there is little the critics can say to keep all the die-hard Pattinson fans from running to theaters to see him brood and act all angsty.
Speaking of Patz, everyone seen the new Eclipse trailer?
