Rose McGowan Calls Off Engagement

Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez began dating in 2006 after working together on the Planet Terror segment of Grindhouse. Rodriguez directed McGowan in her role as a stripper with a machine-gun leg. They announced their engagement in October 2007, but have now split.

Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez's relationship was not easy from the beginning. When they went public with their romance at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2007, rumors started that McGowan was the reason for the breakup of Rodriguez's 16-year marriage.

According to RadarOnline.com, "It was widely speculated at the time that their relationship was the reason Rodriguez divorced his wife of 16 years, producer Elizabeth Avellan. The director later issued a statement saying that he and Avellan had separated long before production began on the film."

Neither Rose McGowan or Robert Rodriguez's reps have confirmed the split.
