Rush Limbaugh's Chest Pains Land Him in Hospital
And Limbaugh Show Accuses Spa of Wrongdoing
Talk about going out with a bang in 2009! Rush Limbaugh not only suffered chest pains while on vacation and ended up in the hospital, but a guest host on his show also managed to direct a good deal of negative press to a spa in Virginia. Busy, busy... let's take a look at how 2009 wrapped up for Rush Limbaugh.
Rush Limbaugh was enjoying the typical celeb vacation this week (filled with plenty of sand and surf) when he felt chest pains. After being treated in his hotel room, the controversial talk-show host was transferred to a hospital in Honolulu.
"Rush was admitted to and is resting comfortably in a Honolulu hospital today, after suffering chest pains," a statement from The Rush Limbaugh Program confirmed.
"Rush appreciates your prayers and well wishes, and he will keep you updated via RushLimbaugh.com."
At the same time news of Rush Limbaugh's chest pains were breaking, another curious story popped up. According to recent reports, a guest host for Limbaugh brought a heap of negative attention to a U.S. spa when he read off a list of government stimulus recipients that has been making the rounds online.
Mike Vines, who owns Escape Massage in Virginia, said that the $168,300 in government aid listed was from an M&T Bank loan designated for an additional spa location-- but only after he received an avalanche of angry calls. It was later confirmed by a Small Business Administration rep that Escape Massage did not receive stimulus money, but that the loan in question was guaranteed in part by the SBA.
"People were angry," Vines said. "And rightly so, if we had taken the stimulus money. But we didn't."
Rush Limbaugh was supposed to be headed back to his show January 4th, but perhaps it's wise for him to recoup a while longer. If you've already been hit with chest pains, drama of any kind should probably be avoided.
