SAG Award Nominations: Doubt and The Wrestler
Oh, look, it's another awards show.
The embattled Screen Actors Guild assembled in Hollywood this morning to announce its nominees for this year's Screen Actor's Guild Awards. Leading in iron masks was Doubt, which received four nominations for acting, and one for Best Motion Picture Ensemble.
The reviews have been mixed for the suspicion-driven clergy pic, but Meryl Streep is like award-show Kryptonite. Judges see her name in the credits and it's all over - nomination city.
Milk and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button received three nominations each and Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, and Heath Ledger took home acting nods. On the small screen side of things, Mad Men, The Closer, 30 Rock, and John Adams all received three nominations.
The awards air on Sunday, January 25 at 8pm on TNT and TBS. (Because viewers have one of those channels but not the other?) For a complete list of nominees, head to Sagawards.com.
