L.A. police discovered Menke's body in Griffith park after a friend she became separated from reported her disappearance. Bloodhounds and helicopters were used in the search.
"There were no apparent signs of foul play," said Ed Winter, Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner. "It possibly could have been heat-related, coupled with whatever medical issues she may have had."
Menke had gone for a walk with her Labrador retriever earlier in what was the hottest day ever recorded in Los Angeles -- the city's downtown area topped out at 113.
