Sarah Palin On Cover Of US Magazine

Sarah Palin enters the tabloid fray, "gracing" the cover of the new issue of Us Weekly.
.

Is this effed up?

The new Us Weekly magazine cover features Republican Vice Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, with the headline, "Babies, Lies & Scandal."

As you can imagine (and as Us is probably banking on), the issue is already causing controversy.

No surprise that the response from Camp McCain/Palin isn't positive, especially since a recent issue of Us featured a picture of Barack and Michelle Obama with the headline, "Why Barack Loves Her." Wonder who the Us Weekly top editors are voting for?

Supporters of Palin say the magazine cover is blatantly biased, trashing the Alaska governor and her family, yet cooing over Obama and his. They're asking for journalistic fairness, and wondering why the focus is on Palin's family rather than her politics.

Everyone else says it's Us Weekly not the Wall Street Journal. You buy it from the supermarket checkout line, you know what you're getting, and what you're getting isn't "journalism."

We want to know what you think.

Take Our Poll

Is the Us Weekly cover inappropriate?

  1. Yes. Obvious Obama campaigning.
  2. No. Palin is currently in a babies and lies scandal.
  3. Maybe, but it's what people are talking about.

Mr. McCain made a dramatic, unexpected pick of someone who shares his maverick outsider attitude and is willing to challenge party orthodoxy and politics-as-usual. He selected a gun-owning, hockey-coaching, small-business-running mother of five. As a governor, Sarah Palin is the only candidate on either ticket with executive experience, heading a state government with an $11.2 billion operating budget, a $1.7 billion capital budget and nearly 29,000 state employees. Best of all for Mr. McCain, Mrs. Palin potentially appeals to suburban, independent women and small-town Hillary Clinton voters.

How come the media isn't talking about Obama's children?
