Sarah Palin's New Book Takes on McCain, Not Levi
A chip on her shoulder? More like a whole bag of Doritos.
In her new book, Going Rogue, former Alaska Governor and Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has a few scores to settle. For one, that whole saga during the 2008 Presidential election, when there were rumors of infighting between the Palin and McCain camps, turns out to be largely true. Oh, and she also really dislikes Katie Couric.
In the new memoir, which hits stores on Tuesday, Palin covers everything from her birth town of Sand Point, Idaho, all the way through her emergence onto the political scene, the controversy surrounding her daughter's much-publicized pregnancy and rumors of tension between her and McCain.
As Palin writes, the John McCain campaign team kept her "bottled up" in speeches and interviews, never allowing her to just be herself. She was also coached to give non-answers during press conferences and debates, like the one she had with Joe Biden.
Palin also writes about her frustration with CBS anchor Katie Couric. The series of interviews the two did last year were seen as disastrous for Palin, as they ended up portraying her as ill-informed and un-fit for the job of Vice-President. In her book, Palin calls Couric "badgering" and biased.
Noticeably missing, of course, is the name Levi Johnston. According to the Associated Press, there's not a single reference in the book to the young father of Palin's grandson. Is she trying to ignore the PlayGirl poser, or is she just heeding his warning to leave him alone or he'll let loose on dirty laundry that "will hurt her?"
Check out the new book, or not, if you want to find out what makes the Wasilla woman tick.
