One of the reasons it was formulated relates to medical mary jane smokers who wanted to enjoy the health benefits of using the plant without getting stoned. Tikkun Olam (translates to "Healing The World"), the company that developed the plant, neutralized the effects of THC (what controls the numb feeling typically associated with smoking the plant) while increasing the intake of cannabidiol (also known as CBD), which is known for helping diabetics and assisting in the treatment psychiatric problems, according to the Maariv Daily.
Tzahi Klein, head of development at Tikkun Olam, mentioned that users who tried their recent conception originally thought that what they were given was only a placebo. "Many of our patients who tried the new plant come back to us and say: 'You tricked me.'"
