Sean Penn Splits From Robin Wright Penn

They milked it for all it's worth.

But not divorce...

As Hollywood history has shown, success on the big screen doesn't always translate to success in love. In the most recent case, Sean Penn, who recently won an Academy Award for his performance in Milk, has filed for separation from his wife of 12 years, Robin Wright Penn.

According to the entertainment show Extra!, Penn filed for "legal separation with minor children" on Friday.

Penn and Wright married in 1997, and have since produced two children, Dylan and Hopper Jack. This is not the first time the two have separated though. They also filed for separation in 2007, but eventually got back together in April of 2008.
