Secret Millionaire Donates Her Fortune To Lake Forest College
Grace Groner stuns Lake Forest admin after her January passing.
One-hundred-year-old Grace Groner was an alumna of Lake Forest College in Chicago who passed away this past January. She spent her life in a one-bedroom suburban home and once funded a Lake Forest scholarship, but her final good deed before she died gave the college a huge surprise this week.
Grace Groner donated her $7 million fortune to Lake Forest College as part of her will. The money came from an investment worth just $180 in 1935, and it's thought that Groner lived modestly in order to donate the millions after her death.
Reports explain that Grace Groner intended for the money to go toward study abroad programs and internships. Years ago Groner donated $180,000 to Lake Forest for the same purpose.
