Song of the Day

Shakira is one of the most entertaining musicians of our time. We could listen to her sing and watch her dance all day long. And sometimes we do.

We're still singing along to "Hips Don't Lie" and have been super excited to hear new stuff from Shakira. When "She Wolf" was first released, we weren't totally impressed. It was a little too slow and boring. We pretty much ignored it for a while. But when we couldn't avoid it any more, we realized we actually quite like it. A lot.

So, it took a little while to grow on us. It's not the typical Shakira we've grown to love, but it's actually really awesome. We love hearing Shakira's howling and the lyrics to the song are super empowering, as well:

"I've been devoting myself to you Monday to Monday and Friday to Friday/Not getting enough retribution or decent incentives to keep me at it/I'm starting to feel just a little abused like a coffee machine in an office/So I'm gonna go somewhere cozy to get me a lover/And tell you all about it."

We're loving Shakira as a She Wolf. And can't wait to see what's next for her. Of course, we'd like to hear some more tunes like "Hips Don't Lie" but we'd be happy with some more "She Wolf" tunes too.
