Weaver says James Cameron lost because he "doesn't have breasts."

As we made clear in our Jim Carrey Twitter stories, the last thing we like to see celebrities do is say stupid things in public. Sigourney Weaver is next at the megaphone, saying that the only reason Hurt Locker's Kathryn Bigelow won the Oscar for Best Director is because she's a woman. Are you seething like we are?

For decades across every industry women have fought for career equality, and Kathyn Bigelow's Best Director win for Hurt Locker at the Oscars was a revolutionizing moment in entertainment history. Bigelow was the first female director ever to receive the award, and even Best Director opposing nominee James Cameron, Bigelow's ex-husband, said she deserved it.

But 60-year-old Sigourney Weaver, who played Dr. Grace Augustine in Cameron's Avatar, says that nobody even saw Hurt Locker. Here's why Sigourney Weaver is getting slammed all over the Internet today -- Weaver's quoted saying, "Jim didn't have breasts, and I think that was the reason. He should have taken home that Oscar." Sigourney Weaver continued, "In the past, Avatar would have won because [Oscar voters] loved to hand out awards to big productions, like Ben-Hur. Today it's fashionable to give the Oscar to a small movie that nobody saw."

Wait, nobody saw Bigelow's film? The Hurt Locker is said to have netted $40 million worldwide, which is only a fraction of Avatar's $2.7 billion gross...but still, what an idiotic thing to say. Thanks a lot, Sigourney Weaver. Now stop talking.

Meow! It's good to be proud of the movie you starred in, but awards are really based on personal preferences and opinions anyway.
