Simon Cowell Wants 'The X Factor' on American TV

But would it be the end of American Idol?

Simon Cowell has huge success in both the UK and the U.S. In fact, when it comes to entertainment, a lot of us let him tell us what we should and should not like. We just trust his opinions that much! And now he wants to bring his popular British show, The X Factor, to America!

Since The X Factor is so successful in the UK, I would love to see it on American TV. And so would Simon Cowell. According to him, "I think the show will go to America. It has to go to America. There has to be an American version of the show. To not make The X Factor in the biggest market in the world would be crazy." He has a point!

I'm just a bit confused. How exactly is The X Factor different than American Idol? It seems like every season, we hear about the possibility of Simon Cowell leaving American Idol and this might actually be a good excuse for him to leave. But with Simon Cowell judging over at The X Factor, would there even be a need for American Idol anymore? Would it matter?

Time will tell and for now we can look forward to at least one more season of American Idol with Simon Cowell judging. Not to mention, we can look forward to seeing new judge Ellen Degeneres in action! Would you mind if American Idol was replaced by The X Factor?
