Our Spidey senses say it will be a great show!

Spider-Man on Broadway...we have been hearing about it for quite a while. In fact, it has been in the works for six years! Last year, reports came out that the show had been scrapped after many of the cast members had backed out of their contracts. Now, it's officially back on!

The musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is scheduled to hit Broadway later this year. The show's lead producer, Michael Cohl announced Tuesday that they will begin preview performances in November and opening night is scheduled for December 21 at the newly renamed Foxwoods Theatre.

Cohl has also announced the main cast including Reeve Carney as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane Watson and Patrick Page as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin.

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark features music and lyrics by Grammy winners Bono and The Edge of U2 and a book by Taymor and Glen Berger. Sounds like it will be a great show!

According to Broadway.com, the story will draw "from more than 40 years of Marvel comic books for inspiration, Spider-Man spins a new take on the mythic tale of Peter Parker, a teenager whose unremarkable life in Queens is turned upside-down-literally-when he's bitten by a genetically-altered spider and wakes up the next morning clinging to the ceiling. Bullied by his classmates and tortured by a crush on next-door-neighbor Mary Jane Watson, this science geek discovers he has suddenly been endowed with astonishing powers. He soon learns, however, that "with great power comes great responsibility." Maligned by the media, buffeted by financial woes and stretched thin by the expectations of the world-at-large, Peter must struggle to navigate the perilous and peculiar demands of being a web-slinging superhero."

Are you excited to hear about Spider-Man on Broadway? Is it a show you would like to see if you were in NYC?
