Steve Jobs Turns His Back On Mac
Macworld loses its early inhabitants.
Like Britney Spears and Speidi before him, Steve Jobs has proved the rumors true. The Apple CEO has confirmed he will not make the keynote address at next month's Macworld Expo in SF; the company also released a press release saying 2009 will be its last year at the tradeshow.
The decision to pull out comes on the heels of Macworld shrinkage. The global expos have been scaled back in the past few years and their importance as PR platforms for new products diminished by iTunes and in-store advertising.
In the past, products like the iPod, iPhone, and Macbook Air have received huge unvelings at Macworld. Sources say the likelihood that Apple will unveil any huge new products this January is slim.
Sad. Guess we'll have to find something new to touch next year. Excuse us while we see if Robert Downey Jr.'s abs are available for tapping.
