Steven Tyler Quits, Aerosmith Looking For New Singer
Tyler Walks This Way out the door.
Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler has fallen once again from the stage, and this time he's not getting up. Joe Perry, the band's guitarist, has confirmed that Tyler has quit and the band is currently looking for a replacement.
In a series of strange, Lindsay Lohan-esque tweets, Perry talked about how he found out about Tyler's decision (all the spellings are his own):
"Read on line st left band to do "brand Tyler"? That's all I know but like I've said hasn't called me in months.a bit cold forget us 4 guys"
Then Perry made sure to give fans some hope. "Aerosmith is definetly NOT breaking up. One of the members is doing his own thing and said so in the press. That's all I know."
"Inthe meantime aerosmith is positivly looking for a new singer to work with. You just can't take 40 years of expiriance and throwitinthebin!"
Thankfully, Perry went on WKXL, a radio station in Concord, N.H., to lay down the facts about Tyler's exit.
"After the tour got canceled, he just kept drifting off and doing other things. We would hear things from different people. He wasn't talking directly to anybody in the band," he said. "So basically, he just made the announcement that he was taking some time off."
So if Tyler is gone, and Perry is insisting the band will continue, who's gonna do the crooning for Aerosmith now? Maybe they'll have some reality show to find a new star, like INXS did. Or maybe they'll hire a golden-voiced YouTube fan, like Journey.
Either way, it'll be hard to match Tyler's famous screeching.
