Taylor Lautner Wasn't Sure 'New Moon' Would Be a Success

They had no reason to be worried!

What is wrong with this boy? All of us Twilight fans were absolutely positive the movie would be a huge success, so why couldn't Taylor Lautner see this? He and fellow werewolf, Alex Meraz, weren't sure the movie would do well. They must have been pleasantly surprised by New Moon's opening weekend.

Alex Meraz, who plays werewolf Paul in New Moon, says he recently sat down to talk with Taylor Lautner. The two were discussing whether or not New Moon would do as well as Twilight did. Alex says, "We were like ‘We don't know if its going to be this big,' just because we knew Twilight fans watched it over and over again. So we're like, ‘I don't know if they're gonna do that again.' To see these numbers I am like cool, we're alright."

Yes, we would definitely say they're alright! Alex now seems to be pretty happy with how the numbers are turning out and says, "It's great and fantastic that it's doing so well. I am just glad that fans have been coming in droves to watch it. Also the fact that there are newer fans that are coming to watch it. I mean the numbers speak for itself."

We can kind of see why Alex would be a bit uncertain about how New Moon would do. After all, he wasn't in Twilight and maybe he was nervous the focus on the werewolves wouldn't be taken well by Twilight fans. But this is Taylor Lautner's second film and with all the fans going crazy over him lately, we'd think he would realize how huge the hype for New Moon was.

Of course, Taylor is a bit modest, so maybe he was just trying to prepare himself for the worst. We have a feeling Eclipse is only going to be even bigger!
