'Teen Mom' Renewed for Two More Seasons
The original moms are back
It's the show you hate to love, right? Or is it love to hate? Either way, MTV has just renewed Teen Mom for the third and fourth seasons and the show will soon be returning with the original cast, including Amber, Catelynn, Farrah, and Maci. Uh oh.

To be honest, I'm really excited to see what all these girls are up to... Except for Amber Portwood. I think she should stay as far from the public eye and television as she can. But that doesn't mean I think the show belongs on MTV.
Interestingly, MTV announced the show's renewal to coincide with the National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. According to the Senior Media Advisor of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, "MTV is doing their part to keep the national spotlight on this important issue by showing the reality of teen pregnancy and parenthood in programs like Teen Mom, and by drawing attention to how teens can protect themselves." Do you agree with this? Or do you think MTV is making teen pregnancy look more attractive?

I hate to say that I'll be watching Teen Mom when the third season premieres in July, but I will be. I get oddly sucked in to to the girls' lives... But then, I'm not a teenager and I don't think their new "fame" looks attractive at all. If I had a teenage daughter? I would not want her watching the show.

It has been revealed that MTV will be working to make the show more educational by featuring the girls in PSAs talking candidly about sex, pregnancy, and prevention. Something tells me this isn't going to make much of an impact on teenagers' actions.
Will you be watching Amber Portwood, Catelynn Lowell, Farrah Abraham, and Maci Bookout when they return to MTV this summer?
