The Counting Crows Say You Should Take a Holiday in Spain
Song of the Day
The Counting Crows are one of those bands who will always be classic. They're one of my go-tos for music whenever I'm not quite sure what mood I'm in. Because they have something for absolutely every mood.
I can't pick just one favorite Counting Crows song because they have so many that I love for all different reasons. But this Monday is definitely a good time to listen to "Holiday in Spain" from their best of album, Films About Ghosts. I mean, doesn't a holiday in Spain sound absolutely perfect right now? Much better than being in work anyway.
The song sounds like such a serious, mellow one, but when you listen to the lyrics, it's actually quite ridiculous: "I may take a holiday in Spain/Leave my wings behind me/Drink my worries down the drain/And fly away to somewhere new/Hop on my choo-choo/I'll be your engine driver in a bunny suit/If you dress me up in pink and white/We may be just a little fuzzy 'bout it later tonight."
Engine driver in a bunny suit?? Oh well, it's a Monday and we could all stand to be a little bit less serious. And to take a holiday in Spain. Thank you, Counting Crows.
