Halloween is approaching fast, so perhaps that was part of the inspiration for H&M's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo line. The Swedish high-street haven has recently teamed up with Trish Summerville, the film's costume designer, to create Lisbeth Salander-style garments.
If you've already read the Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel, or seen the gritty 2009 Swedish film adaptation, then you'll know that Lisbeth Salander is the crime-fighting, computer hacking, tattooed and pierced anti-heroine. Needless to say, the look isn't something to be taken lightly, and we probably wouldn't recommend wearing the full ensemble at once.

As Summerville explains in a statement, "Salander's look is very real and very lived in, with pieces that her character has worn for a long time, like her jackets that act as her armor to shield her from the world."
"I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge... My goal is for women to find pieces in it that they love and then mix them with their own wardrobe to create their own personal style," Summerville added.
While crusading journalist Larsson died of a heart attack in November 2004, his Millennium trilogy soon became a global publishing phenomenon of the 21st century, selling tens of millions of copies in more than 40 countries. A Hollywood adaptation of Dragon Tattoo, starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara, is also due to be released at the end of this year.

With Larsson putting Swedish literature on the map, it's only natural that clothes giant H&M would want to pay homage to the franchise. The collection will be available in stores and online beginning Dec. 14, just in time to get punk-goth gifts for everyone on your Christmas list.
