The Penny Loafer Makes A Comeback

Too cool for school.

We love back-to-school shopping even though we'll never need a #2 pencil or loose-leaf binder again.  It's the clothes,  friend.  The clothes.

Visions of collegiate blazers, tartan minis, and cable knit sweaters dance in our heads. Of course we're going to wear those items funkier and more sophisticated, but it's all we can do to hold off until cooler weather blows in.

Number-one on our back-to-school must-have list is a tried-and-true favorite: the penny loafer. Cole Haan has reinvented the academic classic, and it feels like an old friend got a makeover. Our eye is on the cherry-red patent version, but it also comes in a festive hunter green and the classic brown suede.

Just the thing to go with our new Gap trench coat and argyle socks? Sure, with fierce jeans, if you know what we mean. See you in the quad!
