Tiger Woods in serious wreck outside his home.

It's devastating to hear sad news around the holidays, and sadly famous people aren't immune to the possibility. Tiger Woods was involved in a dangerous car accident in his 2009 Cadillac Escalade Friday morning at 2:20 a.m. outside his Florida residence. By Friday mid-day Woods was still listed in serious condition, and new reports suggest the wreck may have been a result of road rage after a fight with his wife Elin.

It's reported Woods was leaving his home in affluent gated community in Windermere late Thursday night when he struck a fire hydrant and a tree on his neighbor's property, less than 100 feet from his driveway. He was promptly taken to Health Center Hospital in Ocoee, Florida, and treated for serious face lacerations. The hospital released him around 3 p.m. local time on Friday.

It's said that Woods' airbags did not deploy, and thus the car would not have been moving at more than approximately 33 miles per hour.

Charges are pending in the incident. Latest reports reveals that police have ruled out alcohol as a factor, but both Tiger and his wife told authorities that they'd had an argument that caused him to leave the house. Recent rumors have suggested that Tiger Woods has been cheating on his wife with Rachel Uchitel, David Boreanz's former mistress. However Elin put the drama behind her to rescue her husband -- she used a golf club to smash out the window of his car after the wreck to get him out of the vehicle before paramedics arrived.

Friday afternoon Tiger's rep said that the accident was "minor" and that Tiger was "admitted, treated and released today in good condition." Tiger Woods' next event reportedly is scheduled for December 3. Stay with LimeLife for updates.

Was Rachel Uchitel Tiger Woods Mistress?

Come on, people! Revise that first graf! Somebody in "serious condition" would not be released from the hospital. If he's been released, he's not in serious condition! DUH! Now, a fight with the wife would explain why he was leaving at that hour, and why his wife was awake to rescue him. If that's what she was intending to do with the golfclub when she smashed the rear window on his SUV. LOL!

According to officers at the scene, "serious condition" is a term used to describe someone with injuries that are not treatable without a trip to the hospital...DUH!
