Tips For Wearing Red Lipstick
Red Lips for All!
Red lipstick can be a real pain, but that doesn't mean I want to stop wearing it altogether. I was pumped to see BellaSugar's tips to a trendy red, because it takes some careful finessing to make cherry and fire-engine red work for you.
The easiest thing to forget about the red lip trend (that is ironically the most important) is that there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of shades from which to cherry-pick. Sure, we love that bam! red, but it's not always the best one for us. Here are a couple other reds you might want to consider.
Deep Red: So dark that it almost looks like a stain on black or brown skin, this is a tough color to pull off if you're fair. If your skin is duskier olive or darker, you might want to try a deep red, complete with a tiny daub of gloss on the bottom lip.
Orange-Red: Do you have golden or olive undertones? Try a red that's more orange than you might first be attracted to. This extremely flattering color is as bold as it is unusual, but when it works... it works!
Semi-Sheer Brick Red: This is my color. The most subtle of the reds, it provides enough to stand out, but it's very flattering for those of us with pinkier skin tones. With gloss to spare, it's less screamin' red than the others, but it also looks kissable and fierce. Love it!
