'Transformers' Tops Razzie Noms as Worst Movie
It's no more than meets the eye.
Giant talking robots may set your heart aflutter, but they don't sit so well with our nation's critics. Michael Bay's blockbuster sequel, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, leads all films with seven nominations from the Razzies, which "honors" the worst to come out of Hollywood.
Aside from nominations for Worst Picture and Worst Sequel, the film's lead actors, Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, were nominated for Worst Couple. Fox also snagged a nomination as Worst Actress.
Director Michael Bay is also up for the Worst Director Category. "Bay is totally talent-free and untouched by the muse," said Razzie President and founder John Wilson.
Will Ferrell's Land of the Lost actually tied with Transformers for the most nominations with seven. The comedian's box office disaster has brought him a nod for Worst Actor.
In a possible first, actress Sandra Bullock may become the only person to ever win both a Razzie and an Oscar in the same year. Her Razzie nom comes for her creepy turn in All About Steve, while her Oscar nod comes for her performance in The Blind Side.
This year's Razzie Awards will also honor Hollywood's worst from the past decade. Worst actor nominations include Eddie Murphy, John Travolta, Mike Meyers and Ben Affleck, while the worst actresses include Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez.
