Twilight Leads in People's Choice Award Nominations

What else is new?

This could be a trend we're seeing for years. After all, there are still three (hopefully) Twilight saga movies for us to watch. That means they could be leading in nominations for various awards for the next few years. We just found out Twilight is topping nominations for the upcoming People's Choice Awards.

After 18 million votes were cast, Twilight has 6 People's Choice Awards nominations! Congratulations to the cast in crew. The movie was nominated for Favorite Movie and Favorite Franchise (obviously!), while Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner were nominated for Onscreen Team. In addition, Robert Pattinson is up for Favorite Actor, Kristen Stewart is up for Favorite Actress, and Taylor Lautner is up for Breakout Actor.

Star Trek and X-Men are both tied for second place with four nominations each. Both Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto from Star Trek are in contention with Taylor Lautner for Breakout Actor. That should be an interesting race! And the X-Men team of Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Will.i.am, Dominic Monaghan and Daniel Henne are up against the Twilight crew for Onscreen Team.

Not surprisingly, True Blood also raked in several nominations, for Favorite TV Obsession and Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show. Anna Paquin is also up for TV Drama Actress. Clearly, the people of our nation have an obsession with vampires and all vampire-related entertainment.
