'Twilight Saga: Eclipse' is "Steamy", Says Chris Weitz
We like steamy
Chris Weitz may not have been the Eclipse director, but he's gotten a sneak peek at the script. And he's describing it as "steamy." It sounds like all the Bella/Edward/Jacob drama has been translated to the big-screen just perfectly.
Chris Weitz was the director of New Moon, so he knows a thing or two about making a Twilight movie. With David Slade taking over for him in Eclipse, we're very interested to see how he handles it. And we're happy to hear that Chris Weitz sounds like he approves.
After reading the Eclipse script, Chris Weitz tells People, "I'm looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say... That's going to be very steamy." Ooh lala. We remember that scene from the book; you know, the one where Bella and Jacob share a sleeping bag, with Edward looking on?
Chris is also really excited to see Elizabeth Reaser and Peter Facinelli as Edward's parents again. He says, "I have a special interest in seeing Peter and Elizabeth tear people's heads off... Knowing them, and how kind of kooky and delightful they are, I'm going to find seeing them being ultra-violent very interesting indeed."
While New Moon isn't up for any awards this weekend, Chris Weitz is obviously cheering for Twilight's Anna Kendrick. And he says New Moon could have been nominated for awards if the Academy was a little bit different: "If only the Academy were composed of teenage girls, I might be looking at a Best Picture nom... It's a scandal that there are not more teenage girls in the Academy."
How true is that? We're loving all the Eclipse details, but now we'd like some Breaking Dawn news!
